Initial reaction was highly negative and four months later, three quarters of the public still felt that Congress should have stayed out of the case, a view essentially unchanged late in the year. There were also notable non-trend news stories. Im not saying the governor is corrupt, but theres an appearance of corruption and the collective bargaining agreement is very clear, so what Ive done is put together a bill that bars anybody who he collectively bargains with from contributing directly to his race.
